On the Photocomparator and the Stereo Pricking Device
3
Features of the Instrument
(1) The pricking of the measured points can be conducted on the diapositive ir
respective of the material of which the diapositive is made, i.e. it may be
dry plate, film or other substances.
(2) A weight is attached on the pricking needle and it is adjustable so as to
adjust the pressure given thereon in order that pin hole is perforated only
through the emulsion layer.
(3) A mini-motor is prepared as the power sources and pricking can be conducted
with constant pressure and constant speed resulting in uniform size and form
of the hole whoever operates it.
(4) Minute readjustment (±5mm) of X', Y',X" and Y" can be easily conducted.
(5) Space base can be easily set up by operating K' and K".
(6) Since the vertical parallax can be transformed into the horizontal one by
rotating the stereo model ±90°C, the remaining Y parallax can be eliminated
by means of the sensation of evenness. Furthermore, the inverted view of
the sensation of evenness may take place by revolving the stereo model by
+ 180°.
(7) The floating mark is formed as a light point by means of a photographic
image and an optical equi-distance system.
(8) The tip of the pricking needle is made of jewel which has a special form
approximating a chisel and its rotating diameter (diameter of perforation) is
0.06 mm in standard. (When a special diameter is required, the tip shall be
made so as to meet the requirement.)
(9) The tip of the pricking needle is easily replaceable.
(10) The magnification of the observing instrument is 15X and the field of view
is 15 mm in diameter on the original plate.
(11) Streoscopic observation of two photographs of adjacent strips may take place.
Main Point of the Mechanism
(A) Optical System for Observation
(1) Each side of the binocular optical system is provided with Amici prisms
which can be either separately rotated or those on both sides can be sim
ultaneously rotated by equal angle.
(2) The magnification of this binocular system is 15X and the field of view is
15 mm in diameter on the diapostive.
(3) The floating mark consists of light point, the luminosity of which is ad
justable constructed by the use of a semitransparent mirror and equal
image distance system.
(4) In pricking the floating mark, the distance of the optical system can be
adjusted so as to correspond either to dry plate or to film.
(5) Looking through the back of the diapositive, the floating mark can be ob
served as a positive image.
(B) Carrier of Diapositive
Minute readjustment of the diapositives on the left and right sides can be
conducted by ±5 mm in both X and Y directions. (At first, both diapositives on
the left and right sides shall be set with hands on the glass plate respectively in
