(c) Two more sheets in the series Svalbard 1 : 100 000 have
been compiled at the scale of 1 : 50 000. For this com
pilation oblique air photographs from about 3 000—
3 500 m have been used in a Zeiss Stereoplanigraph,C4.
(d) Large scale maps of a coal mine area in Adventdalen,
Svalbard, were compiled by means of terrestrial and
aerial photogrammetry.
3. Systematic glaciological research in Norway and Svalbard
has been maintained, determining velocities and variations
in glacier volumes by means of photogrammetry.
Antarctic
Four sheets in the series Dronning Maud Land 1 : 250 000
have been published, and several other sheets in the same
series have been compiled at the scale of 1 : 100 000 using
oblique air photographs taken in the austral summer of 1958—
59. The Spr-Rondane area in Dronning Maud Land has been
recompiled in the scale of 1 : 100 000, based on Belgian field
work and mainly Norwegian oblique air photographs taken
during the mentioned season. The scale of publications will
be 1 : 250 000.
