PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF SOME DIFFERENT DIGITAL TERRAIN MODELS
Chief eng. Carl-Olof Ternryd, Sweden
Layout for the report.
1. The purpose of the report should be to show the application
of some DTM:s. There is no intention to present any com
parisons as to the result of the different models. It is
more important in this beginning phase of development to
show how the models work in practise.
Therefore it is suggested that the photographs over the test
area Wiesentheid, the summer photographs, are measured accord
ing to the different models.
The following models are to be used.
The French Semis des points 1
The Finnish
The Nordisk ADB, Sweden
The W-model, Sweden
The W-model, Sweden, analytical photogrammetry
The Terra DTM, London
The DTM of Stuttgart
The measurement
An area of approximately 150 m (75 m on each side) around the
polygontraverse 1-6 in the summer-photographs number IV - VI
should be measured according to the principles of the actual
DTM.
With the aid of the DTM cross-sections shall be interpolated
with an interval of 60 m along the straight line 1-6. The
point interval within the sections shall be 10 ra. The total
length of each cross-section shall be 100 m (50 m on each
side of the traverseline).
The result of the interpolation shall be accounted for numeri
cally and graphically on the scale 1:100. The number and situ-
