2.2.5.2 Use of Specially Built Stereometric Cameras
While the projects mentioned in Section 2.2.5.1. used
standard stereometric cameras, a number of other projects used
special cameras specifically designed to meet the requirements
of these projects.
One of the fine examples in this connection is the stereo-
metric camera developed in Poland and used extensively in pre-
cise mine surveys (Kowalczyk, 1964). Another fine example is
the Galileo-Santoni Tecnoster/B (Fig. 6) stereometric camera
which was designed primarily for precision measurements of auto-
mobile bodies. Of particular interest is the stereometric camera
developed in Japan (Maruyasu and Oshima, 1966) for measurement
of objects in motion.
Unfortunately, the literature does not contain, to the
best of the writer's knowledge, definite information about the
accuracy obtainable by systems using these special cameras.
2.2.5.3. Photogrammetric Considerations
In using stereometric cameras for high precsion work, due
consideration should be given to a number of items; most impor-
tant of which are discussed below.
2.2.5.3.1. Expected Accuracy of the System (refer to Fig.13)
