2.1. Characteristics of the Camera
Ihe new stereo-camera aims at measuring objects in motion with the high
accuracy of close range photogrammetry. All necessary operations are made
automatically. The camera has mechanisms with the following advantages:
(1) With this camera, one is able to use long roll film as in aerial photo-
graphy so as to take photographs continuously.
(2) At the exposure time, pairs of stereo-photographs are taken by use of
long roll film. To cover the entire film for photographing, the distance
between the two lenses and the mechanism for transporting the film were
determined numerically and precisely to avoid unnecessary coverage.
(3) All procedures such as film winding, shutter charge, film suction and
exposure time are regulated at a time interval of 1 or 2 seconds and single
shot photos can be taken.
(4) Resistance caused by the change of film diameter for the winding action
is adjusted mechanically by the clutch of the board spring.
(5) The motor, connected with AC 100 V current, operates the necessary
automatic cycle.
(6) Any object distance between 1. 3 m and 5.0 m can be photographed with
helicoid-type focussing.
