PHOTOGRAMMETRY APPLIED TO LAND OWNERSHIP ABSTRACT
The Companía Mexicana Aerofoto, S. A., has been surveying large tracts of land in the
Mexican Republic by means of aerial photography in order to locate those areas which
through legal processes will come under the control of the Goverment with a view to sa-
tisfying its agrarian needs. (Authorized by the Departament of Agrarian Affairs).
The execution of this project. was difficult because of problems revolving about the im-
mense expanse of land involved, climatic conditions, and communications. In the two years
since the initiation of the project the Companía has used 425,700 square kilometers of pho-
tographic material from its files and has surveyed a total of 439,300 square kilometers.
This survey has determined the location of landed property and has led to an increased
knowledge of the country.
