Before this could be accomplished, a number of things had to 
be done. For better penetration of the expected haze, lenses had 
to be refocused for infrared film; in addition, super-wide angle 
cameras had to be obtained; and special ground photo processing 
equipment had to be procured. 
Briefly discussed in this paper is the country of Liberia - 
its land, its economy and its people. Also reviewed, in somewhat 
greater detail, are the activities associated with Project 67-4 - 
the mapping of Liberia using infrared film - from January 1967
