REPORT OF THE COMMISSION IV 
PREMISE 
The Questionnary attached to this « Premise » has been sent to all 
the National Societies of Photogrammetry, to the Organizations produ- 
cing surveys and topographical and cadastral maps and to many students. 
Answers came from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Ca- 
nada, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain and Commonwealth, 
Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland. 
Instead of the first idea of drawing up a report « elaborate and com- 
parative », we prefered the solution adopted by our predecessors Mrs. 
Percy Tham and Malte Glifberg in 1948, that is the integral reproduc- 
tion of the reports received, without translating them in other lan- 
guages, in order to avoid Incorrect interpretation. 
As they are, the national reports appear very interesting. We de- 
plore only that some countries, where a very successful work of photo- 
grammetrical surveys has been achieved, failed to give an answer.
