During the last year air-triangulation of about 2000 sqkm was made in the
Institute by two trained air-triangulators, namely Ing. Schoenberger and Ing.
Niedermann. From the air-triangulated strips maps are being made continuously
in a scale of 1 : 5000 and 1 : 2500 with 1 m contour intervals.
Besides topographic maps the Institute prepares rectified photoplans in
1:1250, 1:2500 and 1:10,000 scale; maps in 1:20,000 scale for anti-soil-
erosion work; and also in 1 : 20,000 scale maps for soil classification and culti-
vation purposes.
A heavy blow fell on the Institute, when in October 1950 its head and
founder, Mr. Zalman Leef (Lifshitz) was taken away by an untimely death. The
management was then taken over by Major Gluck together with Mr. N. Leef.
In December 1951, Prof. Ing. Schoenberg from the Geodetical Department
of the Hebrew Institute of Technology, Haifa, together with the staff of the
Photogrammetric Institute and the Survey Department of Israel, founded the
Israel Photogrammetric Society. At the same time the Hebrew Institute of Tech-
nology in Haifa decided to establish the so much needed training courses in
photogrammetry and for these purposes a Wild A6 Stereoplotter was installed.
RAPPORTO DEL PROF. GIOVANNI BOAGA, Dell’Universita’ di Roma,
Presidente della Societa’ Italiana di Fotogrammetria e Topografia (S.LF.E.T.)
Parte I
SVILUPPO DELLA FOTOGRAMMETRIA IN ITALIA.
Iniziatore dell'attività fotogrammetrica in Italia deve considerarsi Ignazio
topografici risale all'anno 1855 e puó quindi considerarsi contemporanea a quel-
