On the determination of the radial distortion in aerial photographs
In this paper some preliminary results of the determination of the radial distortion in aerial
pictures are briefly described. The results are compared with the laboratory determination of the
distortion curve. Considerable differences are found.

The influence of radial distortion and other systematic errors upon
photogrammetric models from approximately vertical pictures
Up to now mainly the direct influence of the radial distortion upon the
elevations of the model has been treated in the photogrammetric literature. In
this paper particularly the indirect influence of the radial distortion and other
systematic errors of the fundamental pencils of rays upon the final coordinates
of the model is treated. First the influence upon the relative orientation is
derived and then the corresponding influence upon the model coordinates. Also
the compensating effect of the absolute orientation has been taken into account.
The influence of systematic disturbances upon the aerial triangulation has
briefly been demonstrated.
If systematic errors of the fundamental pencils of rays are known, the theore
tical influence upon the final data of the photogrammetric procedure can be
found with the derived methods.
