Excellenzen, Meine Damen und Herren. 
Die Auszeichung, die Sie mir mit der Brockmedaille übergeben haben, rührt mich sehr. Es freut 
mich dass das Schicksal mir Gelegenheit gegeben hat einen bescheidenen Beitrag zur Entwicklung 
der Photogrammetrie zu leisten. Herr Präsident, meine Damen und Herren, ich danke Ihnen.

Je suis profondément ému par la distinction que vous me conférez en me décernant la Médaille 
Brock. Je suis heureux que le sort m ait donné l’occasion de faire une modeste contribution au 
développement de la photogrammétrie. Monsieur le Président, Mesdames et Messieurs, je vous 
remercie. 
The President then briefly introduced the members of the Organizing 
Committee, Professor Ilallert, Mr. Möller, Dr. Fagerholm and Mr. Âhstrand. 
The three latter members then made short speeches on the organization of 
the Congress etc.

Hallert, M. Möller, Dr. Fagerholm et M. Âhstrand. Les trois derniers donnent de brefs rapports 
sur l’organisation du Congrès. 
Mr. S. G. Möller, Treasurer of the ISP, gave a report on the financial side of s. G. Möller 
the work of the ISP and the Congress. Like the previous administration, the 
present one had started without assets. The first Congress budget amounted 
to 350 000 Swedish Crowns but this estimate had to be reduced. The Swedish 
government, the Fund for Forestry Research, and certain forestry firms had 
supported the Congress economically and many state and other institutions 
had contributed with personnel, etc. The members of the ISP had paid their 
fees in an exemplary way. A considerable part of the costs for the Congress were 
borne by the companies taking part in the exhibition and the municipality of 
Stockholm had placed some of the premises at the disposal of the Congress 
almost free of charge. The accounts of the Administration were looked after by 
an accountant and the financial transactions had been continually audited by 
a state auditor.

Tout comme l’Administration précédente, on avait commencé sans ressources. Le premier budget 
établi pour le Congrès s’élevait à 350 000 couronnes suédoises mais devait être réduit. Le gouverne 
ment suédois, le Fonds pour la Recherche Forestière, et certaines compagnies forestières avait fourni 
une aide financière, et beaucoup d’institutions gouvernementales et autres avaient contribué en 
mettant leur personnel, etc. à la disposition du Congrès. Les membres de la SIP avaient versé 
leurs cotisations d’une façon exemplaire. Les compagnies participants à l’exposition fournissaient 
une partie considérable des coûts du Congrès, et la municipalité de Stockholm avait offert presque 
gratuitement certains des locaux du Congrès. Un comptable était chargé de la comptabilité de 
l’administration et les transactions financières avaient subi une révision continuelle par un vérifi 
cateur public. 
Dr. P. O. Fagerholm, Secretary-General of the ISP stated that one of the p. o. Fagerholm 
main purposes of the Congress was to bring the participants—about 700 in 
number—into contact with each other. During the brief space of seven working 
days about 150 of them would present about 200 papers. When work on the 
programme had started, a year and a half before, a forecast of the number of 
papers to be presented had been made, but it had been greatly exceeded, especi 
ally during the last month. In drawing up the programme it had been found 
necessary 
1) to strictly limit the time allowed for each lecture in order to ensure time 
for discussion 
2) to a limited extent, to have meetings of two commissions at the same 
time. Summaries of the papers had been distributed in 4 printed and one 
mimeographed edition and about 50 % of the lectures were also reproduced 
in offprints etc. The principles governing publication of the Archives were also 
referred to.
