In addition the mean square value of the deviations 
from the average of the distortion was computed for each 
point of the distortion curve. 
The computations, demonstrated in table 1, yields the 
somewhat surprising result that the residual parallaxes 
are larger in 
the panchromatic pictures than in the other 
kinds of negative material. The difference is, however, 
slight, and the size of residual parallaxes are, as we know, 
not only dependent on the properties of the negative ma- 
terial. 
The above described procedure, which was used for the 
comparative test in question, does not show any significant 
differences in the geometrical properties of the three kinds 
of negative material. As for the colour film, this material 
seems to be well suited for photogrammetric purposes.
