The Barr & Stroud Power OperatedPhotonymograph Type K.C.4. Produces
with great versatility, high-quality print for subsequent photographic
reproduction—as in cartography, or for direct use. Facilities for tabula
tion and justification are under development.
The Barr & Stroud Dendrometer. Is a small specialised rangefinder
incorporating an inclinometer. It is used to measure distance, height, and
the widths of tree trunks—in estimating growth and timber yield.
The Barr & Stroud Field Works Stereoscope Type Z.D. 16. Is intended
for precise measurement, in the field, of topographical features in small
areas of stereo-photographs up to 5 in. square with 60% overlap.
Activities and Products
The firm of Barr & Stroud Ltd. was rounded in 1888 for the manufacture
of rangefinders and gunnery fire control instruments. Its activities now
include the manufacture of a very wide range of mechanical, optical, and
electronic equipment.
