A great number of different numerical specifications were furnished which
cannot be demonstrated in detail. It is not always possible to decide if the |
specifications refer to tolerances (maximum deviations) or to some other
kind of statistical concepts. In general, the main numerical Specifications
refer to the flatness of the locating back and to the length of the camera |
constant (calibrated focal length) and to the position of the principal point.
For the flatness, tolerances between 0.005 and 0.013 mm are mentioned
and for the length of the camera constant 0.01 - 0.02 mm. For the position
of the principal point some organizations use the tolerance 0.05 mm. For
the accuracy of the radial distortion curve one organization uses the toler-
ance 0.02 mm.
1.3 Which information is given concerning the surveying camera and its |
quality (for instance concerning radial distortion) at the delivery of |
photographs for measurements ?
20 answers.
In most cases some kind of calibration certificate for the geometric qualities
of the camera is delivered together with the photographs - or will be deliver-
ed at request. In some cases also information on the resolving power is

given.
1.4 How is the distortion effect of filters determined and how is the used
filter and its quality demonstrated?
20 answers.
The camera is calibrated including the filters: 9
The filters are individually checked according to high quality
requirements concerning flatness: 7
The filters are checked by the manufacturer only; 4
The accuracy of the filters is so high that no distortion effects
can occur: "3
2.1 Which deviations concerning the direction of the camera, the flight
line, the flying altitude, the longitudinal and the lateral overlap etc.
are tolerated under normal conditions ?
Do you think that specifications are necessary or suitable concerning
the mentioned deviations ?
How should such specifications be constructed?
