ABSTRACT
This Final Report was intended to describe merely the ac-
tivities planned to be conducted by the Working Group, as per the -
previous, programme submitted to the Delegates when the Group was -
proposed during the last Congress held in Lausanne in 1968. Such ac
tivities, to be performed by the Brazilian Institute of Space Resear
ch (ex-CNAE) in close cooperation with NASA, were to include inter-
change of scientific data and information acquired with remote sen-
sors in both countries. Some significant events, however, brought
to the members the problem of condensing the volume of matter worthy
of being reported.
The first one was the execution of the RADAM PROJECT (Ra-
dar in Amazon), involving almost 4.000.000 sq. km. of RADAR imaging
as well as false-color infra-red photographic coverage and a multi-
-spectral photographic sampling.
The second one was the International Panel Meeting on Re
mote Sensing held in Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo, Brazil, sponso
red by the United Nations, in which almost 200 people were gathered
for two weeks, sixty or more of them being representatives of fo-
reign countries or International Organizations.
The last was the begining of an expanded Remote Sensing
Programme at the Brazilian Institute of Coffee being financed by -
the International Coffee Organization.
In writing this Final Report, an attempt was made to -
briefly describe all the research activities conducted in various
fields of remote sensors application, as well as to bring to this
Congress asmuch information as could be obtained from partici-
