State-of-the-art and current application of Remote Sen- 
sing Technique in U.S.A. are not emphazised in this Report in 
order to avoid a poor repetition of what is going to be throu- 
ghly presented by Mr. William Fischer in the same Session of 
this Congress. 
The Brazilian remote sensing effort has been concentra 
ted in Agriculture, Forestry, Geology, Mineral Resources, Ocea 
nography and Hydrology, Geography. This research and applica- 
tion effort to date has been carried out by the INPE of the Nati 
onal Research Council (CNPq) of Brazil, by Government Ministries 
and by Brazilian Aerosurvey Companies.
