Working groups were established by the Color Committee in the areas
of films, processing equipment, laboratory techniques, cameras,
minification of color aerial film, and photomechanical reproduction
of color.
A special study was made of user requirements for image quality
based on qualitative and quantitative definitions.

The Division drafted a resolution to the United States Congress stressing
the need for a follow-on program to the Farth Resources Technology
Satellite (ERTS-B). The resolution was subsequently approved by the
ASP Board of Direction and endorsed by ISP and many other organizations.
Landsat-C (formerly called ERTS-C) was authorized by Congress in 1975
and is scheduled for launch in the fall of 1977. (€
Summaries were prepared of educational courses offered and degrees
attainable in remote sensing and photo-interpretation.
SPECIAL COMMITTEES AND WORKING GROUPS
In addition to the work of the three technical divisions, a number of
separate technical and professional committees have made significant
contributions to the work of the Society.
