Recommendations for DSP
(1) Landsat data are suitable for future Maryland land cover inven
tories, and can also be used to augment MAGI System data. For
example, areas encoded only by functional use in MAGI can also
receive a cover type label obtained from Landsat data. Likewise,
the MAGI System data can be used to augment the Landsat results,
by digital overlay and incorporation of some MAGI categories, such
as transitional.
(2) DSP should use the MAGI System adjusted primary and secondary land
use (P' + S') acreages. This will entail software modifications to
enable operational use of the (P' + S') computation.
(3) The reorganized DSP land use scheme developed in this project
should be useful for other Maryland remote sensing projects.
