being performed in short timeframes would
have taken years to run just 15 years ago.
The advances in the computing industry can
be combined with human interaction
methodologies of visualization and the spatial
data management capabilities of a GIS to
give a dynamic and virtual 3 D spatial data
environment. As this environment becomes
more and more a real time presentation,
display, and interaction capability, our whole
approach to spatial analysis may change.
The potential for the integration of GIS with
a virtual reality interface is almost here.
