data. These activities will be performed through working group meetings during the International 
Symposium on Vegetation Monitoring at Chiba University, Japan (August 29-31, 1995) and the 
Asian Conference on Remote Sensing at Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand (November 
20-24, 1995). 
The most important part of the working group activities in 1995 is the modification of land cover 
legend. The legend has a hierarchical structure with the harmonization with other internationally 
adopted legend in higher levels of the categories and Asian characteristics in lower levels.
