ABSTRACT
Ihe method of creation of the digital terrain model /DTM/
from the stereoplotter coordinates is described. The
measured coordinates are first transformed to the common
coordinate system and then the heights in the knots
of square net, which is uniform for the whole object, are
interpolated. As a final result the DTM is given in the
form of known heights of the knots of Square net arranged
in an assummed order and divided into sections. The chosen
way of creating of the DTM make automation measurements
and calculations possible.
Ihe DTM ereated in a given above way was used for: de-
termination of the vertical displacement of the terrain
surface in mining areas, calculation of the volume of
mass stored in a containers or on a dumps and plotting
of a shope maps. The method is used in few surveying
companies in Poland,
1. INTRODUCTION
The works on the method of creating digital terrain mo-
del were started in relation to examination of height
deformations for mining terrain surfaces. Height defor-
mations caused by great rapid movements of terrain sur-
face should be determined as quickly as possible. This can
be done by comparison of contour lines existing on perio-
dically prepared topographic maps. The other Solution is
