Fig.8. The copy of the soil map that was prepared from the initial 
airphoto investigation of a terrace is seen in this view. The air- 
photo patterns were delineated and identified in terms of the land- 
forms, from which were inferred the engineering soil characteris- 
ties. The laboratory analysis of the samples taken from the field 
determined the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads classification of the 
aggregates.
