High resolution analog or 1024 X 1024 digital images can be displayed
on the two monitors. One monitor is a color monitor where we can
display images in either monochrome or through the three color channels.
The other monitor is a black and white monitor where we can display
only monochrome. Both monitors can be used to display the realtime
analog video from any camera or a digital image from either the color
or monochrome memory. Autotracking software allows the analyst to
create master and slave stations. The data tablet cursor is used
to scroll on the master station. The slave station moves to keep
the same geographic coordinates centered on both monitors. This
capability can ‘be used to track a feature such as a road, river or
power line.
These are some of the abilities of the SAS as listed by the contractor
in their Final Design Plan:
- Video softcopy display of hardcopy images/graphics.
- Firmware warping of one image to another.
- Video digitization of analog display into 1024 X 1024
state-of-the-art pixel representation.
- Multiple viewing modes
side by side
split screen
superimposition fade
superimposition flicker
- Display enhancements
gray scale manipulation
zoom & scroll
pseudocolor enhancement
- Interactive graphic tools for pointing and tracing
- Text data entry functions
- User console for centralized remote control of input stations
Output from the SAS can be in many forms. Formatted reports that
list hazards to navigation can be printed for inclusion in current
publications. Session listings for analysts records can also be printed
out as well as source code for programmers.
