DATA MANAGEMENT : DEMETER D M
This is a complete system capable of managing all the data logged in the
cartographic data base. The user can interact with the base via a graphics
work station. This system provides the following functions :
* loading of the data acquired by the three sub-systems in the "operation
base".
* Inquiry from the data base on the following criteria : administrative
identifiers (blocks, roads, cross-roads) - geographic windows - origin
of data - name of surveys - numbers of surveys - date of updating - etc,
* Qutput and merging of localized and non-localized data for specific
application programs : - technical management - socio-economical inves-
tigations - financial management.
* Automatic creation of a diary keeping a record of the movements on the
data base.
* Interactive design of cartographic maps and surveyor's sketches by using
ground tacheometer points, geometric fonctions and the catalogue of
codes,
* Integration of built land data in a photogrammetric survey or a
digitized geographic map.
* Automatic interpolation of level curves from a cluster of altimetric
data,
* Correction and updating of the information in the data base,
* Modification - addition - deletion - creation of points, vectors or
entities.
* Creation of codes and identifiers by key board or menu,
* Data validation by introduction of administrative identifiers for
streets, blocks and cross-road, in agreement with local or state coding
regulations,
* Positioning of writings.
UTILIZATION OF DATA : DEMETER MAP
The geographic data, output from the data base and merged (or not) with
nonlocalized data, can be used by different application programs.
Depending on his needs, the user can extend the applications without
"jeopardizing" or questioning the reliability of the base structure.
The digital data which are coded by the three acquisition sub-systems
DEMETER PH, DEMETER DG or DEMETER TP are classified according to their
families (ex : road systems, buildings, vegetation, etc ..). Each
family gathers a set of elements that are individually coded. Each has
a graphism that is a function of the drawing scale to be obtained.
During the mapping process, parameters are entered in order to define :
the origin of the data to be plotted(photogrammetric, field or digitizer)
the type of drawings to be obtained,
the drawing window,
the type of format (standardized, internal or external coordinates, etc,)
the drawing scale,
the families and the family elements to be drawn,
the media to be used.
