The coding, the control, as well as the graphic representation of the 
data base elements are stored in "customized tables" that can be modified 
an interactive mode. Automatic printing of the code catalogs used is 
provided. The user can enter typical drawing requirements into a catalog, 
define his own set of characters, as well as the symbols associated with 
the various elements, the system containing as many as 200 standard 
symbols. 
OPTIONAL APPLICATION PROGRAMS 
Other application programs integrated into the DEMETER system expend the 
capabilities to other scopes of work. 
DEMETER CAD 
This system is designed to create, compute and update the cadastral data 
acquired from field or photogrammetric surveys, or from existing drawings 
This system makes it possible to manage various information such as : 
—- limites of plots of land - number of plots - list of points 
contained in each plot - X, Y, Z, of each point - list of owner 
of each plot - surface of each plot - nature of each plot - 
rate of land tax. 
Outputs from this system may consist of listings giving the condition 
of the plots, or cadastral maps arranged unitwise (section, block, town) 
defined by the user. 
DEMETER RS 
This system is used to plot network, maps, arranged according to adminis- 
trative units or according to underground network, in grid layout 
projection or in cross section. 
DEMETER RV 
The structure of a town may be shown as a network of street. Each street, 
materialized by its centerline and its extremities, as well as by the 
blocks of houses that border it, can be linked to an administrative 
codification that can be broken-down as follows : 
—- street-name - street code - number of its origin - number of its 
end - number of street section - code of right hand block - code 
of left hand block - coordinates of vector points that define the 
streets. 
This specific system can create and keep-up information on the street 
networks. If it is adopted as reference system, this network will facili- 
tate the merging of geographic and administrative data. 
HARDWARE CONFIGURATIONS 
The DEMETER system is running on DEC VAX computers, DEC MicroVax II and 
NORSKDATA serie 500 computers. 
Interactive graphics software is based on TEKTRONIX graphics terminal 
serial 41 XX or any GKS compatible displays.
