parameters specific requirements. The sketch of artificial target
deployment on Chharodi test site & its acquired TES PAN
Image is given in Figl. The summary of specially designed
parameter specific artificial Target is given in Table-2. The
advantage of this design is simultaneous measurement of all
Image Sensor Parameter in rural area, which was made possible
due to TES PAN Sensor spatial resolution of 1m x 1m. The
targets are deployed at identified location and distances
between targets are measured accurately.

4.0 IMAGE SENSOR PARAMETERS
Technology Experiments Satellite (TES) carried a
panchromatic sensor of spectral bandwidth (0.50-0.86 pm)
with a spatial resolution of Imeter x 1 meter at an altitude of
560 Km. The basic image sensor parameters are as follows:
4.1) Point Spread Function:
The Sensor modifies the spatial properties of the object (scene
or target) due to blurring and geometry distortion. The blurring
occurs on a smaller spatial scale for few pixels than geometry
distortion where smaller details are missed. The blurring due to
sensor optics, detector & electronics are characterized by total
sensor point spread function.
4.2) Sample Scene Phase:
Sample-Scene-Phase characterizes
the uncertainty in the
location of the scene with respect to known sampling grid of

spatial signal that has either maximum contrast or no contrast,
which is again, a measure of target blurring effect. Two-
