same was executed in the field and a systematic monitoring was
carried out jointly by SAC and ANaRDe Foundation for
evaluating the performance of the structures , the cost: benefit
ratio and finally the benefit to the end-user at grass root level.
6. RESULTS & DISCUSSION
Various actions and structures suggested by ISRO were
successfully implemented by the PIA in the respective villages.
Several check dams were commissioned for critical irrigation
and recharge purpose, series of gully plugs and nala bunds were
suggested for arresting silt/soil loss and generating local soil
moisture. Some tanks were suggested for desiltation/ deepening
in order to enhance their useful life. Several plantations were
carried out as a part of afforestation plan. Agro horticulture was
carried out in selected villages to improve cash return of the
farmers. The following is the details of the implementation
and the results along with the cost:benefit analysis carried out
for one such village named Lambhi in Shehra taluka of
Panchmahal district.
Table 1 gives the detail of the implementation in 11 micro
watersheds/ villages of Shehra taluka :

Extensive post implementation field survey was carried out for
about one month in order to collect the feed back from the
beneficiaries in the various watersheds/ villages. The ratio of
integrated cost and benefit was compiled as follows
ICBR (Integrated Cost Benefit Ratio) = Additional financial
return/ Cost of Check dam
= 12.5-6.8/ 5.8
= 5.7/5.8
= 0.9851(in lakhs Rs.)
