SOME GLOBAL DATA AND INFORMATION NETWORKS
ISPRS Information Retrieval System (on bibliographical
literature) and documentation on educational and research
facilities (see World Cartography XVI, N.Y. 1979)
EARSeL. Remote Sensing Member Directory in Europe with all
their corresponding facilities, EARSeL Secretariat, Paris
Remote Sensing Society, co-sponsored by EARSel, and others.
Listings of all known remote sensing educational institutions,
addresses, main disciplines, etc. on world-wide basis
scheduled for publication in 1982/83
ESA Information Retrieval System contains 21 million titles
and abstracts on space science and technology and related
subjects. ESA-LEDA (Line Earthnet Data Availability) Data
Base contains images of the earth obtained from space
NOAA/NESS and EROS Data Centre contain space acquired data
and related retrieval systems and appropriate global
bibliographical literature
Canada Centre for Remote Sensing Data Base has RESORS which
is its global remote sensing on-line retrieval system (titles
and abstracts on space related subjects with emphasis on
remote sensing)
CNES and other French organs such as EGN, BIGM, CNRS, ORSTOM,
etc. information systems with emphasis on earth sciences data,
space imagery and air-borne maps mainly on France and its
former colonies
INTERCOSMOS contains space acquired data and retrieval informatior |
systems on titles and abstracts on space science and technology
and related subjects for the Soviet Union and those countries
with which the Soviet Unión has entered into agreement for such
a service
NASDA contains space acquired data mostly over Japan and
contains information retrieval systems on titles and abstracts
on space science and technology and related subjects on world-
wide titles and abstracts
WMO maintains global meteorological space data and information
