Microstructural analiysis (performed at 2500 magnation) have shown a lamellar & structure at
different degrees of fines; fine-grained-(sample-Pr 11), Pr 7 (coaser grain); Pr 8 and finaly Pr 10
(coarse-grained)
Sample — Pr 12 has also a coarsed Widmanstitten structure
Quantitative Image analysis was done on Ti-6Al1-3,5Mo-1,7Zr samples quenched and aged
Fig. 1 TNustrates for sample — Pr 11 the thickness of a phase lamelae:
a)the size of thinner a lamellae is between 1,8 — 4,78 um and below 3,19 pum for intermetallic
B - phase
b) the adjacent regions of coarser o - lamellar has a thickness between 3,04 — 12.46 um, with 4.2 --
11,8 um, for - phase
c) the content of a and phases is 35,82 % for f phase and 64,18 % for a phase
