g rate is The orientation of the (100)-texture pole with respect to the specimen directions is driven
by the vector of heat flow during solidification in the weld pool. The residual stresses
across all three AIMg3-butt-joints are characterized by compressive residual stresses in
the weld seam due to a pre-tensioning of the sheets by clamping and balancing tensile
residual stresses in the parent material. Compared to the MIG weld, the residual stresses
in the CMT weld are slightly lower. This can be attributed to the lower heat input of the
CMT process.
