4. SUMMARY 
In this work the deformation, failure and precipitation behaviour of welded joints of 1. INTR 
Alloy 617 were investigated. Due to the temperature exposure at 700 °C the microstructure 
of the material changes and is unstable in the investigated temperature and time range as Mater ials 
a consequence of the formation of carbides and y phase. Therefore the hardness increase stability a 
and limited deformability must be expected in all areas of the weld during high temperature few years 
use. A PWHT applied at 980 °C after welding causes the stabilization of the microstructure building I 
and an increase of the deformation capability in all areas of the welded joints. mentione
