SOME POSSIBILITIES OF OPERATIONAL CALIBRATION OF THE PHOTO 
INTERPRETATION - REMOTE SENSING DATA: SOME APPLICATIONS IN 
THE WETLANDS - THE DANUBE DELTA

ABSTRACT 
In order to achieve a proper information flow both for the 
complete use of the existing records and for the design of some optimum 
remote sensing systems, the operational geometrical and spectroradiometrical 
calibration of the multivariate recordings is necessary both for inter 
pretative as well as for quantitative purposes. 
From the multitude of problems only the following are retained 
for solving: /1/ to associate the data from two or more different data 
storage missions; /2/ to adjust the geometrical qualities of the recorded 
data to a basic mapping material of reference; /3/ to make preprocessings 
in order to modify the geometrical and radiometrical aspects of the data 
in the sense of avoiding some great physical influences; /4/ geometrical - 
spectroradiometrical correlation using MTF and Fourier's double transforms 
for the system of multistage recordings combined with adequate sampling. 
Finally, some techniques used for observation and marking of the difference 
between the recordings, as well as for the improvement of the signal/noise 
ratio are presented. 
The presented applications are referring to deltaic examples.

RESUME 
Afin de réaliser un flux informationnel correspondant à une 
utilisation et à une mise à profit aussi complètes que possible des enre 
gistrements existants, ainsi que pour concevoir et projeter des systèmes 
de télédétection optimaux, il s'avère nécessaire de réaliser le calibrage- 
étalonnage opérationel sous ses deux aspects: géométrique et spectro- 
radiométrique des enregistrements multivariés, tant du point de vue inter 
prétation que quantitative. 
De la multitude de questions qui se posent dans le cadre de ce 
problème, on a retenu les suivantes: /1/ l'association - l'alignement de 
précision des données de deux ou plusieurs missions différentes; /2/ l'ajus 
tement des qualités géométriques des données à un matériel cartographique de
