IV. - Computerized bibliog raphic system
In accordance to the last Congress resolutions the recognition
of computerized bibliographic systems should be performed.
In Europe, European Space Agency has the space documentation
service ESA RECON, which offers a high performance and high
capacity computerized information retrieval system. Their opera
tion is based upon an interactive on line dialogue. Remote
terminals connected to a central computer are used for biblio
graphic citation retrieval. This system contains 18 files cove
ring among others NASA file based on Scientific and Technical
Aerospace Reports /STAR/ and International Aerospace Abstracts
/IAA/ as well as NTIS file /National Technical Information
Service/, and PASCAL file /France/ both covering multidiscipli
nary science and technology.
Above mentioned systems cover only one part of the activity of
our Society, so the necessary efforts should be taken to in
clude photogrammetrie bibliography to the one of the existing
systems.
We are expecting information from our reporters in USA and
Canada where similar systems are existing.
According to the last ne\is received from Geo Abstracts, they
will produce the bibliography in a fully machine readable form
by 1980 .
