NOAA SATELLITE STATION IH GREECE :
PROSPECTS OF ESTABLISHING AND USES IN REMOTE SENSING EDUCATION
In this work on attempt is made to present the possibility of
establishing a NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration) satellite station in Greece.
For this purpose, reference is made to the charasteristics of
the NOÀÀ satellites, the physical parameters measured by them and
hence, the usefulness of such a station.
A typical satellite station 1b briefly described and its
operation is explained together with the factors that are
affecting its various parameters.
Finally the situation in Greece with respect to Remote Sensing
is examined, referring specifically to the effects that a NOAA
station is expected to have on image processing centers and on
Remote Sensing education, as well as on environmental studies.
