Figure 3: Technical documentation of the Dome structured in index on the left
Technical report
is very important part of any documentation. It must contain the main information on the project (contract, producer, investor), the
equipment used, coordinate system (local or reference), control points (clear description of points, coordinates and statistical
measures on accuracy), results (list of products, names of data files), etc. Especially for old documentation, although produced with
photogrammetry, only analog maps usually exist and perhaps even photographs, but there is no information on control points and
other relevant issues. If the monument was destroyed in the meantime, one can hardly use the photos for further metrical
investigation.
Vector maps
are still the mostly used products. We have structured it in the following categories:
• ground and horizontal maps
• vertical maps (facades and vertical cross sections)
• maps of facades
• maps of interior walls
• maps of details
Raster maps
are usually produced as orthophoto maps. They are mostly produced for some important details or frescoes. In figure 4 an example of
an orthophoto of fresco combined with vector map of the main altar is shown.
3D models
could be produced as:
• wireframe
• surface
• textured
• solid
