The camera also automatically controls the aperture in the 8 x
zoom objective. Each variable magnification is controlled via a
precise stepping motor. By means of a Pechan prism you can
steplessly turn the image by 2 x 360° which can be essential for
certain detail interpretations.
For Kern, the manufacturer of this system, it is a matter of course
that apart from the image rotation you can switch from negative
to posi ti ve - the importance of which has been described in detail
with the RK 820. An additional characteristic of the Zoom Sight
20 X is the possibility to represent details more clearly by either
amplifying or weakening the image contrast.
With this system - the Zoom Sight 20 X - Kern & Co. AG has
developed an interpretation aid that cannot only be used for the
interpretation of aerial photos and satellite images but also for
the interpretation of applied photography.
Image rotation of the Zoom 20x -
original image size of a tank 1.2 mm;
magnification approx. 50 mm; better
evaluation possibilities by image
rotation and by use of the shadow
incidence.
