After the proposed Agenda (see above under Council Meeting I) had been approved, the President proposed that some of the questions only be the object of a first, informative discussion, while decisions could presumably be made immediately on other questions. With regard to the motions, the President referred the delegates to the distributed papers. As the different motions were brought up the Secretary-General or the Treasurer gave an account of their background and described the preliminary views which some of the delegates had submitted by post. The items on the Agenda were treated in the order shown below. Item 3. Brief summary of the activities of the ISP since the Washington Congress. The Secretary-General reported on the start and organisation of the controlled tests and other commission activities between the congresses — cooperation with the OEEPE, Austrian work on the polyglot dictionary of photogrammetry etc. and on the commission work in preparation for the Congress. He announced that the following had been accepted as new members of the ISP: Survey Department of Egypt (individual member since 1955), Chinese Society of 60
