Man findet wohl das Gefälle einer Strecke zweifach nach Prozenten ausgedrückt. Die eine Zahl bezieht sich auf die Strecke selbst, wie sie im Gelände liegt; es ist also das Gefällprozent für die Hypotenuse Hundert gemeint oder die trigonometrische Funk tion sinus zur Berechnung des Neigungswinkels anzuwenden. Die andere Zahl liefert das Gefälle für die Kathete Hundert oder die Funktion tangens. Beispiel. Ein Hang, der in seinem unteren Teile gleichmäfsig unter 12,278 °/ 0 oder unter 7° gegen den Horizont geneigt ist, soll aufgeforstet werden. Die Breite der Fläche längs dem Fufse ist die Horizontale a = 105 m , die Länge derselben den Hang hinauf und senkrecht zu a ist b — 191,93 m . Auf der rechteckigen Fläche steht nach oben aufserdem ein Dreieck mit der Höhe 7i = 96,71 m und einer Steigung von 17,365 °/ 0 ihrer Länge. Wieviel Pflanzen sind erforderlich bei einem ~ Meter Verbände, 1,5 aDo bei einer Pflanzung mit 3 m Reihen- und 1,5 m Pflanzen abstand in den Reihen? Antw. 5555 Stück. Es kann beim Messen mit dem Stahlbande Vorkommen, dafs der eine Stab sehr tief zu stehen kommt. In diesem Falle wird man den Ring an dem Stabe in die Höhe schieben müssen. Man läuft dabei Gefahr, dafs der Stab aus der lotrechten Stellung ge zogen wird. Aufserdem mufs man zur Bestimmung des Neigungs winkels daran denken, dafs die Visierlinie des Gefällmessers parallel zum Bande sein mufs.
