Les principes théoriques de l'interprétation analytique sont posés et trois groupes de critères d'interprétation sont définis. Les fonctions corres- pondantes à remplir par la simulation numérique sont alors décrites. Un exemple d'application de cette démarche est ensuite présenté. Il apparait que cette approche de modélisation peut être envisagée comme la lecture d'une image faisant appel à une grammaire spécialisée. ABSTRACT | D The inadequacies in most data processing methods of remote sensing AIC LON imagery for the purpose of renewable resources mapping have lead to search for another approach to exploit the data. The concept proposed in this paper is to split up the analytical photointerpretation into logical stages which are numerically simulated. in a following phase. The theoretical principles of analytical photointerpretation and three groups of interpretation criteria are defined. The corresponding functions to be realised by the numerical simulation are described. An exemple of applications of this methodology is given. It seems that this modelling approach can be considered as an image reading which uses a specific grammar.
