Michel-Ange hâtit à Florence la bibliotheque des Medicis , qui ne renferme que des ma- nufcrits, auxquels on a joint un exem- plaire des éditions qui ont été faites d’après eux. On cite les niches qui font d’une nouvelle forme, & le bel efcalier qui conduit du veftibule dans la faille, où l’on confuite les livres. Quoique Îa difpoftion des marches foit très fingu- liere , elles n’en font pas moins com- modes.M ichel-Ange conftruifit encore la facriftie de faint Laurent qui eft un de fes plus beaux ouvrages. Cet édifice eft quarré dans fon plan, & orné de deux ordres de pilaftres corinthiens. On voit {ur la corniche du fecond ordre , au mi- lieu de quatre arcades, un même nombre de grandes fenêtres plus larges par le haut que par le bas.
