6. CONCLUSIONS
Different 3D measurement techniques are currently available
each one with peculiar characteristic in terms of accuracy,
density of the measurement or acquisition time. On the other
hand in the archaeological field we can find a lot of different
structures, that are more suitable to be measured with a
technique rather than another one. Although this is not
completely an original idea, the approach that we tried to set up
is a technique for mixing different technologies, with specific
targets and rototranslations based on the quaternions method, in
order to exploit the characteristics of each technology in the
most suitable way according to the manufact to be surveyed.
The final “multiscale” 3D model seems to demonstrates a
possible way for handling the resulting survey.
7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
The author wish to express their thanks for the availability of
Simone Orlandini, by Nikon Italia, that actually performed the
3D scan with the Rigel equipment.
