82 Commission 2 Les progrès réalisés sur les errements anciens peuvent se résumer comme suit : — Classification méthodique des vues à identifier; — Immobilisation de la vue pendant l’identification ; — Rotation de la planche porte-carte; — Choix rationnel des positions relatives du cliché et du porte-carte; — Eclairage intense par transparence; — Emploi d’un gabarit calculateur spécial; — Inscription normale des renseignements propres à chaque cliché; — Gravure rapide sur les émulsions à l’aide d’une série de normo- graphes; — Centrage automatique des clichés; — Simplification des croquis de report; — Organisation méthodique du personnel en équipe et répartition du travail ; — Entraînement rationnel de ce personnel et suppression pour lui de tout geste inutile et de toute fatigue soit intellectuelle, soit physique; — Mécanisation du travail graphique; — Simplification des calculs. Des essais de cette méthode ont été exécutés avec du personnel entraîné : ils ont confirmé amplement les espoirs fondés, gain de temps très appréciable, et présentation impeccable du travail». REGLE A CALCUL G. PETITOT POUR LA PHOTOGRAPHIE AERIENNE (1) Avant-propos. « L’invention d’un instrument mécanique de calcul remonte aux temps les plus reculés. Néanmoins, le mérite d’une adaptation vraiment pratique de ce genre d’instrument revient en premier lieu à Edmond Gunther, professeur d’astronomie à Londres, qui, en 1620, inventa la première règle à calcul, puis à W ingsgate qui, en 1627, établit le modèle qu’emploient de nos jours, sous une forme cependant améliorée en 1851 par le lieutenant d’artillerie français Manheim, les ingénieurs, architectes, géomètres, banquiers, etc...
