PROBLEM LII.
A grazier bought in as many sheep qs cost him 6ol.
out of which he reserved 15, and sold the remainder for 541.
end gained two shillings a head by them: the question is,
how many sheep did he buy, and what did they cost him

Let the number of sheep be a?; then if 1200, the
number of shillings which they all cost, be divided by a?,
the quotient, will, it is evident, be the number
of shillings which they cost him a piece; and so the
number of shillings they were sold at per head will
be i- 20 — -f 2, by the question; and therefore this, mul-
