The leading of the activities within working group IV: 1 of ISP
has since 1956 been entrusted to Sweden. The work has been per
formed under the supervision of representatives from the Geographical
Survey Office and the Land Survey Board. The Monti di Revoira
project was reported to the London congress and the work on project
Reichenbach will be presented to the congress of Lisbon.
The Swedish National Road Board has been engaged in trying to
develop better methods for detailed processing of photogrammetric
measurements of road cross-sections and profiles. In doing so, the
possibility of providing the photogrammetric data with corrections for
certain systematic errors has also been examined.
Education in the field of photogrammetry is provided at certain
educational institutions such as the Royal Institute of Technology in
Stockholm, the Geography Departments of the Universities, and the
Technical Institute of Harnosand. Photogrammetry is also included
as a subject in the curriculae of certain special courses in surveying and
mapping. Occasional and continuation courses for land surveyors,
engineers, geologists, forestry people, road technicians, etc. have been
held. The training of stereo-operators is carried out by the State.
