On January 13th, 1964, when the present Report had 
not yet been published, prof. Gino Cassinis, the President 
of the Group, died in Roma. 
At about six months from His death, this volume, con 
taining one of His last scientific contributions to the photo- 
grammetric researches, to which He devoted the most diligent 
care throughout the last years, now comes out. 
The present volume will represent a reverent tribute to 
His Memory. In this, I think, will join not only the closest 
Collaborators in the development of the work and the Di 
rectors of the Centres who were so many years in friendly 
and steady connection with Him, but also all the Photogram- 
metrists who knew and appreciated Him as a Man and as 
a Scientist.
