Some Points for Improvement in Accuracy

Ortho - contour Photography

INTRODUCTION,
The preliminary experiment described in the report* in January, 1963
was only to try to obtain the vague contours for simple objects.
Therefore, the precision of the apparatus was very.low and the experi-
ment was a rough work, and the discussion described before was a rough
one too.
Especially, the premier report showed only the possibility of the
method by the principle descrived in the report. Since then, our object
was to obtain the fine contours of an object and then we tried to
change the mechanism, It was reported in Journal of the Japan Society
of Photogrammetry, special volume No.l, this was printed to be Special
Issue for the 10th International Congress of Photogrammetry at Lisbon,
1964. In this report, we showed some attempt which is to be consider-
ed in future.
In this report, author will describe some points for Improvement in
the accuracy of Ortho-contour Photography and some results from the
experiments, but there are many difficult problems, therefore author is
going on to do-the fundamental experiments to refine the aparatus and
to solve the difficulties in this way.
FUNDAMENTAL REQUISITION OF ORTHO-CONTOUR PHOTOGRAPHY
= An Ortho-projective diagram of contours of ihe objeet has to be -
obtained so that each contour has a constant magnification.
2. The contour on a photographic plate must be fine.
=. It would be quite convenient if this way can be applied to many
kind of objects.
