A. Airborne Equipment Installed in a DC.3 Aircraft -
(1) Wild RC.9 aerial camera equipped with super-
infragon lens.
(2) Wild horizon camera.
(3) Rosemount altitude transducer (Statoscope).
(4) Static probe.
(5) Doppler navigation system.
(6) Airborne Profile Recorder.
(7) HRC.2 Aerodist System as follows:
- 3 master units (1 control and 2 auxiliary)
- 3 Aerodist antennas.
- 1 analogue three-channel recorder.
- 1 airborne psychrometer.
B. Ground Equipment -
(1) Six HRC.2 Aerodist remote ground stations.
(2) Equipment for meteorological observations.
The above mapping system virtually eliminates
surveys on the ground as all data necessary for establishing
basic geodetic control and secondary control are collected
in the aircraft. The only points which are occupied on the
ground are the Aerodist ground stations which are spaced at
distances of 100 to 200 kilometers.
This mapping system permits the determination of
the position and orientation of the aerial camera at the
