NATIONAL REPORT OF GERMANY
by
R. Finsterwalder
Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen:
My report on the photogrammetric activities in Germany during the last
few years will be rather short. Photogrammetry has not been applied in Ger
many during these years, and its application is the most important thing.
After all, Germany lost through the last war almost all of its photogrammetric
equipment.
It was, therefore, our main task to produce new instruments. This was
especially difficult since all our factories had either been destroyed or all their
machinery had been removed from Germany. The Zeiss Works have, however,
succeeded in rebuilding and reequipping their plant for the production of photo
grammetric instruments. Since a year ago they are producing their most im
portant product, the well known stereoplanigraph; it is a new improved model
which gives due consideration to the latest developments in the field of photo
grammetric cadastral surveying. A further improved model, the Stereoplani
graph C-8, will be shown during this Congress; it incorporates the latest im
provements.
Other new instruments have been developed: a new rectifier, a radial-
secator for the slotted templet method, a new third order plotting instrument,
the Stereotop, for extensive topographic work. These instruments with all
their improvements will be exhibited during the Congress.
It has now become possible to resume photogrammetric work in Ger
many; at last, after careful preparations, a beginning has been made. I trust it
will be possible to report the results of this work during the next Congress.
NATIONAL REPORT OF GERMANY

Unsere Aufgabe musste deshalb darin bestehen, neue Geräte herzustellen.
