Mr. Massie announced that English, French, German and Spanish would be 
used in all the sessions. Since most of the registrants were English-speaking 
people, all proceedings would be heard in English over the public address 
system. Concurrently, the proceedings could be heard in French, German or 
Spanish over earphones provided for that purpose. 
President Reading announced applications for membership which had been 
received since the last congress from the Canadian Institute of Surveying and 
Photogrammetry, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Society of 
Photogrammetry of England, and the Japanese Society of Photogrammetry. 
The applications were unanimously approved. The German Society of Photo 
grammetry which has been reorganized was welcomed also to its resumption of 
participation in the International Society of Photogrammetry. 
The acceptance of two societies from England raised the question of the 
necessity of amending the statutes to clarify the situation in regard to dual
