REPORT OF THE COMMISSION IV
PREMISE
The Questionnary attached to this « Premise » has been sent to all
the National Societies of Photogrammetry, to the Organizations produ-
cing surveys and topographical and cadastral maps and to many students.
Answers came from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Ca-
nada, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain and Commonwealth,
Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland.
Instead of the first idea of drawing up a report « elaborate and com-
parative », we prefered the solution adopted by our predecessors Mrs.
Percy Tham and Malte Glifberg in 1948, that is the integral reproduc-
tion of the reports received, without translating them in other lan-
guages, in order to avoid Incorrect interpretation.
As they are, the national reports appear very interesting. We de-
plore only that some countries, where a very successful work of photo-
grammetrical surveys has been achieved, failed to give an answer.
